MICHAEL R. BROWN

President
Principal Partner

Michael Brown has served as President of Burdco Incorporated. since 1999. With four decades of experience, he is responsible for sales, client relationships, and overseeing the management of all projects. Prior to Burdco Inc., Michael was President of Burdco/LVI Environmental Services Inc., a national environmental contracting firm. His expertise in estimating and project management led to supervision of key projects across the U.S. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Michigan State University. He also attended Fails Management Institute (FMI) for Construction Executive Training and Management.

Michael is an active supporter of the community. He is a past president, and former “Optimist of the Year” of the Traverse City Optimist Club. Michael has also served on various boards including the Grand Traverse YMCA, Goodwill Northern Michigan, Traverse Connect, and the Discovery Center & Pier.

DAN PATER

Senior Project Manager
Partner; Vice President

A Petoskey native, Dan Pater joined the Burdco Incorporated team in 2002. As Senior Project Manager & Vice President of Burdco, Dan is responsible for budgeting and cost controls, bidding and estimating, subcontractor supervision, and overall project direction. Prior to Burdco, Dan honed his skills in Project Management in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Security Builders and A.J. Veneklasen. Dan is a 1982 graduate of Michigan Technological University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Dan achieved his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology in 1985.

Dan is the past president and vice president of Associated General Contractors, Lawrence Institute Chapter. He is also involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan.

DANIEL O’BRIEN

Senior Project Manager
Partner

A Traverse City native, Daniel O’Brien has managed projects with the Burdco Incorporated team since 2015. As our Senior Project Manager, Daniel is responsible for design concepts, site safety compliance, budgeting and cost controls, bidding and estimating, and on-site supervision. Dan has a proven record of success overseeing all phases of commercial construction projects. Prior to joining Burdco, Daniel served as a Project Manager for Berglund Construction in Chicago. Daniel is a 2008 graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Daniel is a LEED Green Associate with knowledge of green design, construction, and operations. He also holds an ASHE Health Care Construction Certification with expertise in healthcare planning, design, and construction process.

Jason Selleck

Project Manager
Superintendent

Jason Selleck joined Burdco Incorporated in 2022. As a Project Manager, Jason is responsible for building relationships with contractors for successful and profitable project completion. He also brings an extensive expertise in carpentry and utilizes those skills to keep projects moving and on schedule. Entering the construction field in 2004, Jason has two decades of construction management experience, including 18 years in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas, as well as the greater Boston region.

Jason has broad annual safety, equipment, and construction management training which includes First Aid, CPR and OSHA 30 certification. In his free time, Jason enjoys donating his carpentry skills to assist his family and friends with special projects.

Daniel Brown

Business Development Director

A Traverse City native, Daniel Brown has been with Burdco Incorporated since 2023. As Burdco’s Business Development Director, Daniel is responsible for sales leads, client-relationship management, community engagement, and development of strategic partnerships throughout Northern Michigan. Prior to joining Burdco, Daniel lived in South Korea for 18 years. Daniel was an Associate Professor of English at numerous Korean Universities and spent five years running his own import/export business around Asia.

Daniel is a 2004 graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He also holds a Master of Science in Teaching and Learning from Colorado State University Global Campus. Daniel is a member of the Traverse City Optimist Club and serves as an Ambassador for the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce (Traverse Connect).   

Rosanne McCaffery

Office Administrator

Rosanne McCaffery joined Burdco Incorporated in 2018. She manages all company accounting and in-house financial statements. Rosanne is also responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, HR, and payment applications. Her duties also include subcontract management, lien waivers and insurance certificates.

Rosanne holds more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to joining Burdco, she was an Office Manager and Administrative Manager at various construction companies in Orlando, Florida.

Outside of work, Rosanne enjoys outdoor activities including snowmobiling, ATV riding and photography.
